By law, every Community Action Agency in the United States must be governed by a board of directors. This board must be comprised of one-third low-income residents, one-third public officials, and one-third business owners or other private sector individuals. NCO’s board comprises up to 12 community members who meet every month to make decisions about how NCO should proceed in the weeks, months, and years ahead.
Ross Walker Chair
Ross Walker has served on the NCO Board since April of 2014. Walker was the Willits City Attorney for eight years before becoming the Willits City Manager for five. In addition to serving on many other boards including MCAVHN and MEC, Walker has previously been a member and chair of the NCO board.
Wally Holbrook Interim Vice Chair
Wally Holbrook has served on the NCO Board since February of 2015. He is a retired Lake County Superintendent of Schools, and is currently involved in Lake County's Way to Wellville challenge.
John Goldsmith Treasurer/Secretary
John Goldsmith has served on the NCO Board since May of 2012. Goldsmith is a Leadership Mendocino Class XVI graduate and has served as a member of the Leadership Mendocino Steering Committee. Goldsmith is a Financial Planner at Rodgers & Goldsmith Wealth Management/LPL Financial.
Jamey Gill has served on the NCO Board since April of 2012. In addition to serving as the Director of Marketing and Community Development at Mendo Lake Credit Union, Gill donates her time to various educational organizations in Lake and Mendocino Counties.
Shelly Mascari has served on the NCO Board since August of 2015.
Desiree Perez has served on the NCO Governing Board since May of 2016.
Bruce Richard has served on the NCO Board since October of 2013. He is a Class III graduate of Leadership Mendocino, and retired General Manager of the Mendocino Transit Authority.
Jeff Tyrrell has served on the NCO Board since August of 2011. As an NCO Board member and former State Senator District Representative, Tyrrell has long devoted his time to developing working relationships with constituents and elected officials throughout Lake and Mendocino Counties, for the benefit of the overall community.
Jennifer Wright has served on the NCO Governing Board since May of 2016. She is the Administrative Services Manager of Mendo Lake Credit Union. Jennifer is also a graduate of Leadership Mendocino, an NCO program, and recently became a member of the Leadership Mendocino Steering Committee.
