Caring Kitchen Project provides delicious, nourishing meals to individuals and families facing cancer and other serious illnesses. Clients receive 12 weeks of prepared meals at no cost, usually coinciding with treatment. Our organic, mostly plant-based meals help keep clients healthy at a time when shopping and cooking can be a challenge. We use as much local produce in the meals as possible, most of which is donated from local farms and gardens.

A typical weekly bag contains two entrees (one meat or fish and one vegetarian), two sides or salads, a soup, dessert, and snacks or fruit. Clients rave about the beautiful, fresh food and comment on the love and care that goes into each one.

Clients are referred through Cancer Resource Centers of Mendocino and other local health care partners, but feel free to reach out if you or a loved one has a serious illness and would benefit from weekly meals.
