Celebrate CACFP WEEK!

What is National CACFP Week?

CACFP Week is a national education and information campaign sponsored annually during the third week of March by the National CACFP Sponsors Association. The campaign is designed to raise awareness of how the USDA's Child and Adult Care Food Program works to combat hunger. The CACFP brings healthy foods to tables across the country for children in child care centers, homes, and afterschool programs as well as adults in daycare.

You can participate by helping spread the word about the CACFP! Click here to visit the CACFP Website where you will find great resources including Provider Promotion tools, Activity Sheets for children, Food Program education videos, Menu Guides, and much more! You may also view the informational flyers below to learn more about the Child and Adult Care Food Program Week!

The Child Care Food Program

The Child Care Food Program (CCFP) reimburses family child care homes that provide nutritious meals and snacks to enrolled children. Ongoing nutrition training is provided. The Child Care Food Program is currently serving 672 children and reimbursing 64 providers for nutritious meals served to children while in their care.

Studies have shown that participation in the Child Care Food Program is an indicator of a quality child care program. With childhood obesity being the number one health issue for many of our children, choosing a provider that participates in the Child Care Food Program is one way that parents can be assured that their children are developing lifelong healthy eating habits.

For questions or enrollment, please call the CCFP office at (707) 994-4018 ext. 603 or 605.
