Healthy Mendocino works to improve quality of life in Mendocino County by encouraging informed dialogue about the actions local residents and organizations can take to improve community health.
The Healthy Mendocino initiative was launched in 2011 by the Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency Advisory Board, which established the Healthy Mendocino Steering Committee as the governing body. Under their leadership, a coalition of 20 founding partners came together to create and fund Healthy Mendocino, which launched in January 2013. HealthyMendocino.org was developed and is maintained by the Healthy Communities Institute in Berkeley, CA.
On the healthymendocino.org website, you will find information on a broad range of factors that affect health and well-being—everything from air quality to student achievement to poverty.
Healthy Mendocino operates or supports a variety of projects, including:
- 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment with Appendices
- Community Health Improvement Plan
- Covered Mendocino
- Small Steps, Big Changes
