Good Farm Fund

The Good Farm Fund is a community organization founded in 2015 with the goal of providing direct support to small (or low-income) farmers to improve their financial well-being in Mendocino and Lake Counties and increasing local food security for all members of our community.

FARM GRANTS

Our Farm Grant program supports economic development in our community by distributing grants directly to local farms to fund specific projects.  The goal of the grants is to help small farms in Mendocino and Lake Counties succeed and increase participation in our community’s food system, and to support a resilient agricultural community in the face of the Covid-19 Pandemic and the ever-increasing impacts of wildfires and climate change. Strong candidates will demonstrate environmentally beneficial practices, maximize food production for local consumption, and prioritize providing affordable food for underserved members of our community.

In 2020, the Good Farm Fund will be awarding $90,000 in grants to Mendocino and Lake County farms

For questions about the grant process, email goodfarmfund@gmail.com and a Steering Committee or Farm Grant committee member will reply as soon as we can. Our goal is to make the application process as streamlined as possible, and to provide guidances on project concepts as needed, so please do not hesitate to reach out.

“GFF provided a grant for my hatching machine that I have hatched more than 1000 chickens from. I would not have been able to afford it. I’m working on developing an industrial free meat chicken of the HIGHEST meat quality that is also healthy, pain free and happy. Thanks for the help.” – Frank Hartzell, Fort Bragg
