The Mental Health Program of North Coast Opportunities Head Start Child Development Program is based on a holistic wellness approach, which includes the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, occupational and spiritual well being of families and staff. The cornerstone for the prevention program is to assist all children and their families form meaningful, healthy relationships in order to enhance self esteem and to bring about a greater degree of social competence.

Positive mental health is the foundation to all other services and programs. All actions, interactions and decisions are based upon requirements, regulations, good early childhood practices and Head Start Child Development Program's Core Values.
